We began the morning talking about peanut and other allergies and how allergies can affect different people. It seems to be that many severe allergies have appeared in the last couple of decades but perhaps this is just a case of it has been widely known more recently.

We did of course move onto the EU referendum and agreed there are plenty of arguments for either side but unfortunately there seem to be focus on the more outrageous claims made by either side..............

We are pleased to be hosting a Companion Dog Show for charity. There are open classes for pedigree and novelty/fun entrants and it is Kennel Club affiliated as well! Come on down! All welcome, stalls, cream teas, barbeque, refreshments, ice cream. EVERYTHING is for the Charity and is being organised and arranged by South Street Church in Braunton to take a group of youngsters out to Swaziland to help Challenge Ministries over there..........

This morning we remarked on the fact that the €500 note is now going to be taken out of circulation as research suggests most €500 notes are all in the hands of drug lords and other criminals. Incidentally, it appears that Philip does in fact have a €500 note in his possession.........

Well, I hope you had a lovely May Bank Holiday! We did and were busy with some lovely guests who left some lovely comments. The view is how it looked with the sun shining! The tulips have been great this year too and I have planted several more trees and shrubs arounds the grounds – partly my birthday present as well.

The next one beckons – we have a couple of self-catering cottages still free for the week (from the smaller ones for just a couple!) and some Hotel space but don’t delay and remember – it is Whit Week too so it is going to be busier generally and of course the weather will be great........
